The Statist Roots Of The Donald’s Border Wars: Part 1, The Failed War On Drugs

You can’t appreciate the insanity of the Donald’s Border Wars without knowing one cardinal truth. To wit, virtually all of the crime and violence which he endlessly demagogues about is caused by Washington’s benighted War on Drugs. By contrast, immigrants have far lower crime rates than native Americans.

Accordingly, un-conflating illegal drugs and illegal immigrants is the sine qua non for understanding that in the guise of “law and order” the Donald is really about the business of aggrandizing the state, and thereby shrinking the sphere of liberty and imperiling the nation’s economic future.
