The irony rarely gets thicker than that embodied in the incendiary George Floyd saga.

A neatly summarized by a local Minneapolis newspaper, Floyd’s arc went from high school football star in Houston, to a 5-year stint for armed robbery in a Texas lock-up, to a new start in Minneapolis working two jobs, to a brutal police-inflicted death for an (alleged) incredibly petty crime.

Almost instantly—fueled by cell phone videos which leave nothing to the imagination (or for homicide detectives to investigate)—there erupted the greatest burst of political insurrection and criminal pillage since the summer of 1968. And it’s only June 2.
