The Fox Con And Others, Part 1

If Donald Trump and Governor Scott Walker are the new face of the Republican party, we might as well throw in the towel on fiscal solvency and be done with it.

These geniuses are out crowing loudly today about how they spent $307,000 of taxpayer money per job to bring Foxconn to Wisconsin. That is, for $4 billion in state and local tax abatements and development subsidies (or about $1800 for every Wisconsin household) they claim that eventually Wisconsin will be blessed with 13,000 jobs at the proposed Foxconn factory.

But why stop there? At the Foxconn bribery rate, Washington could give a job to every one of the 6.1 million Americans officially “unemployed” for a mere $1.82 trillion!
